Essex Sting Tryout Information

When: Session 1: Sat, 3 Oct, 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Session 2: Sun, 4 Oct, 12:30pm - 3:30pm

Where: Essex Middle School Gym (Location might change)

Cost: Tryouts are free. If you are selected for a team, the season costs $150

Common Tryout Questions

  • Does my player have to attend tryouts?

    Yes. Players are expected to attend tryouts in order to be considered for a team. 


    In some cases, exceptions may be made if a team has not reached capacity and a coach is willing to evaluate an additional player.


    If your player is unable to attend tryouts, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • Should my player attend both tryout sessions?

    Attending both sessions is not mandatory. We offer two sessions to provide felxibility for players who are unable to attend one of the dates.


    However, if you're able to attend both, we highly recommend it. Attending both gives our evaluators more time to see your player and evaluate their skills, effort, and overall play.

  • Does everyone make a team?

    Unfortunately, no.


    While Sting would love to have a spot for every player, roster sizes and number of available teams can limit how many players we're able to accommodate.


    Team selection comes down to these constraints and the needs of each team.

  • When will I know if my player made a team?

    We do our best to let people know if they've made a team within a week of tryout dates.


    Emails about team placement will be sent to the email address you registered for tryouts with.
